Our history
The team that founded DDS began working in investigations in the early 2000s, handling assignments for companies and law firms across Northern Italy. In 2011, building on that experience and on a solid legal background, it started operating under its own brand, which is now known to large companies and law firms throughout Italy. The head office and operations are in Gallarate, in the province of Varese, close to Milan Malpensa airport and less than an hour from the Swiss border, and client meetings are also held at our Milan office or by video call.
We do not sell hours, we look for answers
Over the years we have learned that the value of an investigation lies in the quality and strength of the evidence it delivers, not in the time spent. That is why our work always begins with a question, namely whether the investigation is really needed. When it is not, we say so, and when the problem calls for another professional we help the client find one.
The team
The DDS staff is deliberately varied. An operations director coordinates every assignment and remains the client's point of contact from the first conversation to the final report, an analyst handles research on people, companies and assets, several field operatives carry out observation and documentation, and a network of regular collaborators brings specific technical and legal skills when an assignment requires them.
Sectors we know best
We work with companies of every size, but our experience is deepest in a few sectors whose typical risks we have learned to recognise. In pharmaceuticals and healthcare we investigate misconduct by employees and contractors, contractual irregularities and breaches that may affect regulatory compliance and reputation; in transport and logistics, theft of goods, internal responsibilities and procedural breaches along the supply chain; in hospitality and retail, staff conduct and mystery client programmes; in manufacturing, counterfeiting, patent infringement and theft of trade secrets; in finance and investment, asset and reputational investigations on counterparties.
Divisions
Alongside the investigative division, which works for companies, insurers and law firms, DDS has a corporate security division focused on prevention and compliance, and an in-house technology division that customises the equipment our operatives use to observe and document facts, with particular experience in covert video documentation.
Licence and rules
DDS operates under the licence issued by the Prefecture under art. 134 of the Italian Public Security Act (T.U.L.P.S.) and carries out its work in accordance with Ministerial Decree 269/2010, the General Data Protection Regulation and the code of conduct of the Italian Data Protection Authority for investigations aimed at establishing or defending legal claims. DDS has its own Data Protection Officer.
