Corporate investigations
Investigations protecting the company against employee misconduct, abuse of sick leave, moonlighting, unfair competition, breach of non-compete covenants and internal theft.
DDS is a licensed Italian investigation agency based between Milan and the Swiss border. We help foreign companies, insurers, law firms and investigation agencies turn a doubt about something happening in Italy into lawful, documented evidence that can be used in court.
Licence under art. 134 T.U.L.P.S. · investigations governed by Ministerial Decree 269/2010
Most of our international clients do not need an agency in general; they need someone they can trust in Italy, who knows Italian law and courts and can report back clearly. These are the situations we handle most often.
Different problems call for different tools, but every assignment starts with the same question, namely whether an investigation is really needed and whether the law allows it.

Investigations protecting the company against employee misconduct, abuse of sick leave, moonlighting, unfair competition, breach of non-compete covenants and internal theft.

Prevention work protecting people, sites, information and reputation, from security assessments and due diligence to insider threat and counter-surveillance.

Fact-finding for lawyers in civil, commercial and employment disputes, defence investigations in criminal proceedings, asset tracing and locating people in Italy.
Thousands of Italian residents work in Switzerland and are covered by Swiss daily sickness insurance. When an incapacity for work is in doubt, the insurer needs lawful observation where the insured person actually lives, in Italy. From Gallarate we reach the main border crossings with Ticino in less than an hour.
DDS combines investigative, legal and technical skills to plan assignments in proportion to the problem and aimed at results the client can actually use.
Every investigation is conducted to produce evidence that can support a disciplinary measure or a court case, and the investigators who carried it out confirm their findings in court.
We know the dynamics of pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, transport and logistics, hospitality and retail, manufacturing and finance, and we plan each investigation around the risks typical of that sector.
Our in-house technology division customises the equipment used in the field, with particular experience in covert video documentation carried out within the limits of Italian law.
In Italy, investigations on behalf of companies, insurers and private parties may only be carried out by agencies licensed by the Prefecture under art. 134 of the Public Security Act, following the rules set by Ministerial Decree 269/2010, the GDPR and the code of conduct of the Italian Data Protection Authority for investigations aimed at establishing or defending a legal claim. Evidence gathered by an unlicensed operator, or with methods that Italian law does not allow, is likely to be excluded by the court and may expose the client to sanctions.
Working with DDS means that every observation is carried out in public places or places open to the public, that no personal accounts, devices or communications are accessed, and that the final report is drafted so that an Italian or foreign lawyer can file it and our investigators can confirm it as witnesses. See how we work for the details.
A first conversation is free and confidential, and tells you whether an investigation can help in your case.
